Kinesiology Taping Application for Common Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Conditions – Webinar
October 26 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am MST
Kinesiology taping is a useful tool for treating andpreventing various common physical conditions and athletic injuries. It is widely used to provide targeted support to muscles and joints, facilitating proper biomechanics and enhancing functional movement patterns. Taping can be a great addition to your current practice, affecting the patient orathlete positively for several days of wear outside of the clinic. Kinesiology taping has been designed to mimic human skin; it can stretch 120-140% (the same elasticity as skin) of its normal resting length, allowing more mobility than standard athletic taping. This course will include demonstrations to give the participant an understanding of the benefits of kinesiology taping that can be applied to any common orthopedic and musculoskeletal condition. Practitioners will be able to implement taping as a beneficial adjunct to their current practice to optimize joint alignment, improve joint proprioception, improve lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling and facilitate or inhibit muscular function. After the practitioner understands the fundamentals of taping, they can carry over these principles to tape any common musculoskeletal condition.
Highlights
- Indications and clinical reasoning for applying kinesiology taping to improve your patients’ orthopedic condition
- Practical assessment and application strategies for addressing functional deficits, most common orthopedic conditions you can use the next day
- Demonstration of practical taping for the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee and ankle
