Visual Perceptual Motor Supports For Handwriting Development – Live Webinar
February 3, 2026 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm MST
This course/lecture will examine underlying visual perceptual motor issues that impact student acquisition of efficient, effective, and legible handwriting skills. Treatment strategies will be provided for therapist use, whether in direct therapy sessions or in consultation with parents and teachers.
Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to identify visual perceptual motor difficulties that can impact handwriting success.
- After this course, participants will be able to explain an individualized series of construct>>draw>>write tasks that reasonably begin at a student’s baseline skill level in order to track visual perceptual motor progress related to prewriting/handwriting development.
- After this course, participants will be able to recognize what types of adapted paper are best suited to different motor and/or spatial planning needs.
Agenda
| 0-5 Minutes | Introduction ~ Importance of preschool construction skills and their effect on handwriting development |
