Orthopedic Care Across Settings – Webinar
November 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm MST
Providing comprehensive, progressive care across the continuum of orthopedic settings presents unique challenges to clinicians in all settings, including issues with poor patient compliance. A greater understanding of the treatment approaches, patient education strategies, goals, and outcomes common to the orthopedic patient in each setting and how these outcomes can be carried across settings can improve your patient’s outcomes and expand your treatment toolbox as a clinician. It is no surprise to clinicians that poor compliance with physical therapy treatment negatively impacts patient outcomes following orthopedic intervention. Learn about factors related to why patients demonstrate poor compliance and patient education techniques to improve compliance and patient outcomes (Kattan et al., 2023).
This course will instruct therapists in the key components of orthopedic treatments in home healthcare, SNF, acute care, inpatient, and orthopedic outpatient care. Upon completion of this course, clinicians will be able to plan effective orthopedic interventions in various settings and understand how the continuum of care changes from acute care through the completion of orthopedic outpatient therapy. Orthopedic treatment techniques relative to orthopedics will be presented so that clinicians have access to treatment techniques that can be implemented in the clinic tomorrow!
Highlights
- Practical treatment recommendations for common treatment options for orthopedic injuries in acute care, home health care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient physical therapy
- Case studies with problem-solving applications to improve clinical application abilities.
