Intensive Therapy Model for Pediatrics – Webinar
October 19 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am MST
A quick internet search of “Intensive PT” will yield a plethora of options with a wide range of clinics from private in-home sessions to hospital-based outpatient settings. Clinicians involved with pediatric rehabilitation will likely be asked if it is a worthwhile investment of time and travel for families to pursue with their children. Knowing the most current evidence will help support evidence-based practice decisions and recommendations in these emerging areas. Traditional intensive models often incorporate alternative interventions such as the Therasuit, and emerging models of intensive therapy include school-based, clinic-based, cash- based, constraint-induced, Dynamic Movement Intervention, and in-home private intensives amongst other models. This webinar will review the historical use of intensive physical and occupational therapy, as well as the emerging trends and the rise of social media for marketing services. A variety of case studies will be used to demonstrate the effectiveness of intensive physical therapy and the most current evidence will be presented to help in decision making.
