This course explores current, evidence-based rehabilitation strategies for managing pain and disability in patients with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) types I and II. Emphasis is placed on early diagnosis and integrating physical and psychological interventions. Participants will learn to apply advanced, multimodal approaches to improve outcomes in both acute and longstanding CRPS.
Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to describe the importance of early diagnosis and standardized criteria (e.g., Budapest criteria, BOAST guidelines) in improving CRPS management and patient outcomes.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify evidence-based interventions for CRPS types I and II, including: Multimodal Physiotherapy, Electrotherapy Modalities, Cortically Directed Rehabilitation, Electroacupuncture, and Exposure-Based Approaches.
- After this course, participants will be able to explain the role of multidisciplinary rehabilitation in addressing pain, disability, and body perception disturbances in longstanding CRPS.
After this course, participants will be able to discuss how integrating psychological approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, enhances physical rehabilitation outcomes by reducing fear-avoidance and anxiety in CRPS patients.
