The complexity of neurologic injuries makes for extremely challenging diagnosis and prognosis within physical and occupational therapy practice. Clinicians need evidence- based, practical tools to assist them in providing optimal care and effective reimbursement for patients with neurologic injuries. This course will examine the available clinical prediction rules that can guide diagnosis, intervention, and prognosis and discuss the practical application of these tools across a variety of clinical settings and neurologic diagnoses. Course participants will not only learn how to integrate the most up-to-date research regarding clinical prediction rules into their clinical practice but also discuss the importance of incorporating clinical reasoning and experience into this application.
