Neurological Rehabilitation Through Motor Learning

July 26 @ 6:00 am - 9:30 am MST

Over the past twenty years therapy professions have steadily integrated psychological research into practice. We now seamlessly use motor learning concepts when we discuss interventions. Concepts of practice paradigms and feedback delivery are standard knowledge for therapists. Fortunately, however, the research world is not stagnant, and we are now seeing revolutionary new ideas that are advancing our understanding of how people learn and develop motor skills. This course delves into this evidence and applies it to therapy practice in effective and practical ways.

By the end of this course, you will be able to improve outcomes for your patients with neurological impairment by improving learning and performance through both mutual partnership with your patients and using engaging intervention strategies. Participants will build their autonomy and self-efficacy leading to better carry over and ownership of their rehab process. This course will enhance patient focus and attention to task through motivation and goal directed task building.

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants
