Examination and Rehabilitation of the Shoulder and Knee – Phoenix

Did you know that 1 in 4 people over the age 18 report pain in at least one joint, with the knee being most frequent at 17% and the shoulder second most frequent at 8%? This course presents an opportunity to learn evidence based techniques for examining and treating these individuals and to address common acute and chronic disorders you will see in your practice. By attending this course, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Athletic Trainers will learn strategies to improve patient care with hands on labs along with the most optimal way to develop and progressexercise, including protocols for returning to sport. Clinicians will leave with a breadth of potential treatments to successfully impact your patients, getting them back to their hobbies and activities quicker and safer.

This workshop will focus on the assessment and rehabilitation of common shoulder and knee impairments in both the acute and chronic stage, as well as following surgery. Participants will review key concepts of the subjective and objective examination to better guide the evaluation. Following will be the opportunity to perform a variety of hands on skills including special tests, mobilizations, PNF techniques, and more. During interactive hands on labs, everyone will have the opportunity to perform upper andlower extremity exercises and discuss strategies intended to improve the way we approach rehabilitation. The intent is toeducate practitioners of all levels with an in depth understanding of the treatment of shoulder and knee pain, allowing you to return to your clinic and begin optimizing outcomes by maximizing patient care.
