SUMMARY:Neuro-Developmental Therapy (NDT) to Optimize Functional Outcomes - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Treating children with any level of disability can present multiple challenges. There can be underlying issues that are not immediately obvious. An in-depth evaluation is required to uncover what might be interfering with function. This course will present how to use the ICF (International Classification of Function) and the use of a systems approach to analyze the challenges a child presents. We will explore the basic principles of the Neuro development Treatment (NDT) practice model and the importance of hands-on treatment to make changes for improved function. \nWe will discuss the importance of strength and endurance in relation to increasing function. Therapists will become comfortable using a systems approach to explore multiple systems that could be interfering with function\, with a goal of understanding achievable goals for children of all levels of function. \nThe content of this program is germane to children\, students and clients ages birth-21 year sold. \nHighlights\n\nExamine the benefits of using the Neuro- Developmental Treatment Practice Model to treat a child with neurologic impairments and other pediatric disorders across the lifespan\nFacilitation strategies for improved movement patterns and how to look at all aspects of the child to assess the primary areas influencing function\nUse of the Goal Attainment Scale to develop measurable baselines that enhance outcomes\n\nTarget Audience: Physical Therapists\, Physical Therapist Assistants\, Occupational Therapists\, Occupational Therapy Assistants\, Speech-Language Pathologists
