DESCRIPTION:Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) affects approximately one in 1\,000 infants. Delayed or improper treatment can have long-term implications \, affecting function and mobility. Children with neuromotor impairments  are at risk for acquired dysplasia of the hip secondary to tone\, stiffness\, decreased mobility and weakness. \n  \nThis webinar includes information on the etiology\, assessment and interventions for  children with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH)\, as well as hip dysplasia secondary to neuromotor impairments-acquired hip dysplasia (AHD). Developmental biomechanics of the hip and clinical presentation will be reviewed. Surgical and nonsurgical interventions including orthotic interventions to optimize hip alignment and function will be included.
