SUMMARY:Functional Movement Disorder - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Many of us “grew up” in the therapy world having a basic understanding of conversion disorder and have worked with patients where it feels obvious to us that the patient’s movement problems are not consistent with the diagnosis they have been given. It may feel like they are “faking it”. These patients are often frustrating and difficult to treat with positive outcomes\, leading to therapist burnout. We often don’t have the tools we need to be effective. Emerging research and an increase in appropriate diagnoses of functional movement disorder (FMD) has helped us identify and treat this very real diagnosis. Join us to fill your toolbox with diagnosis and treatment techniques that will allow you to get very real and positive outcomes with this challenging patient population. \nThis course will enhance your differential diagnosis skills around FMD and provide you with practical treatment constructs and ideas that you can put into your patient care the next day. This course includes case studies and video examples to promote learning. After taking this course you will be able to provide your patient population with FMD treatment that will help them get better faster and stay better without frustration and burnout on your end. \nHighlights\n\nPractical treatment approaches and model of treatment delivery you can use the next day with all neurological patients\nEffective\, evidence-based interventions for this population\nCase studies with examples of task-specific functions and return to ADLs\nPatient factors that arise when treating this population that include pain\, cognition\, sleep\, and stress

SUMMARY:#7368 The Pediatric Foot Part 2: Development\, Function\, Assessment & Intervention - Live Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Do you have appropriate knowledge of age appropriate foot development\, and are able to apply it clinically\, as it relates to the child’s lower extremity alignment & gait? To effectively assess a child’s lower extremity alignment & gait\, thorough knowledge of age appropriate foot development is necessary. This course provides a review of ideal boney architecture and presents a greater understanding of ideal foot position & function\, while discussing optimum muscle activity. Science & research findings are described from a clinical perspective. Age specific values & assessment procedures are presented\, together with proposed reasons to intervene and suggested methods of intervention. Although a concise anatomy review is provided\, the primary focus of this course is clinical relevance & application.  As a result\, the clinician will be better equipped to assess the pediatric foot & determine the appropriate intervention. \nCourse instruction method includes: lecture\, picture/graphs\, videos\, and question/answer session. \n  \nInstructor: Liesa Ritchie-Persaud\, PT\, DPT\, PCS
