SUMMARY:Unraveling Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD) is a recently defined diagnostic syndrome characterized by chronic symptoms of dizziness\, unsteadiness\, and/or non- spinning vertigo. While PPPD is a recently identified disorder\, syndromes characterized by dizziness triggered by motion or visually stimulating environments have been documented in medical literature as far back as the 1870s. People with PPPD struggle with challenges in sensory weighing due to problems with readaptation following an acute vestibular episode. This significantly impacts their quality of life (QOL)\, including higher anxiety and stress levels. In this course\, we will understand the pathophysiology/diagnostic criteria of PPPD and will explore the effectiveness of a multimodalapproach\, incorporating selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI)\, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI)\, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)\, and vestibular therapy. \nHighlights\n\nAcquire practical treatment techniques tailored to the treatment of persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD)\nEasy-to-use assessment and outcome measures that are directly relevant to functional deficits\, underlying conditions\, and co-morbidities related to PPPD
