SUMMARY:Anxiety\, ADHD and Anger in the Classroom: 60 Activity-Based Coping Skills to Effectively Manage “Big Feelings” - Live Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Managing the emotional climate of your classroom is crucial to learning. When children are struggling to manage anxiety\, ADHD and anger\, they can’t focus on the academic tasks expected of them in a classroom setting. By teaching kids simple\, healthy and safe ways to express their emotions and calm their bodies\, they will be better able to concentrate on their work during the school day. The positive impact healthy coping skills will have on a child’s academic performance is truly transformational. \nIn this seminar\, we’ll learn how coping skills impact a student’s nervous system\, and how to use that knowledge to help kids calm their bodies and get ready to learn. Join coping skills expert and experienced school counselor Janine Halloran\, LMHC as she shows you coping skills and techniques ideal for a classroom. \nWalk away with a coping skills toolbox: \n\nDeep breathing printables\nCheck in sheets\n”Anxiety thermometer”\nRelaxation exercises\n”What’s your play personality?”\nAnd many more\n\nBe prepared for experiential learning and movement as we try different coping skills like grounding techniques\, breathing exercises\, and big body movements throughout the day

SUMMARY:Playful Parts: The Intersection of Play Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) - Live Webcast
DESCRIPTION:When kids experience trauma or other negative life events such as abuse\, neglect\, bullying\, racism\, violence\, or educational difficulties\, they often hold powerful negative beliefs about themselves\, such as “I’m broken”\, “I’m unlovable”\, or “It was my fault”. \nAs a therapist\, you know that play is a child’s natural language for expressing emotions\, processing experiences\, and resolving internal conflict. But did you know that you can expand this work further by incorporating Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy into your session? By weaving the essence of IFS\, parts work\, with play therapy interventions\, you can help kids conceptualize themselves and their experiences in a healthier way. \nJoin Carmen Jimenez-Pride\, LCSW\, RPT-S\, and Certified IFS Therapist\, as she expertly pairs the therapeutic power of play with the non-pathologizing\, flexible approach of IFS. Through expert explanation and demonstration\, Carmen will teach you how to integrate these two powerful therapy methods so you can help young clients: \n\nRelease shame as they explore and make sense of their internal sensations and experiences\nGive voice to all their “parts”\, none of which are bad or wrong\nExpress and process painful emotions\, urges\, and memories without assigning blame or shame to them\nUnhook from distressing beliefs about themselves and their experiences\nEnhance social relationships\, foster emotional wellness\, and build on personal strengths\nDevelop cognitive flexibility and reframe self-doubt\nAnd so much more!\n\nTake your play therapy interventions even further by incorporating IFS – sign up today!

SUMMARY:Therapeutic Taping Strategies for the Upper Extremity - Live Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThis course will incorporate an evidence-based approach using techniques to reduce trigger points and apply neuroplasticity principles to reset pain thresholds.  This course will also provide an overview and background on the role of traditional inelastic taping (ie\, McConnell taping techniques) and various forms of elastic taping using kinesiology tape for deloading/facilitation/inhibition strategies.  There will be a review of the relevant literature produced in this area with an emphasis on cervical and Upper Extremity conditions that are most suited for the use of therapeutic taping including lateral epicondylitis\, upper crossed syndrome\, carpal tunnel syndrome\, rib fractures\, and myofascial trigger points.  This course will include basic taping techniques for clinicians that are new to taping – but it will also include taping strategies and parameters based on recent literature.  A summary table of contemporary research published in the past 15 years will also be provided to all course attendees. \nCourse Objectives\nAt the end of this course\, the participant will be able to: \n\nDescribe the type of tape available (inelastic vs. elastic) for musculoskeletal interventions.\nExplain the contraindications for the use of therapeutic taping application.\nExplain the applications of taping for various conditions such as lateral epicondylalgia\, trigger point related pain\, and carpal tunnel syndrome.\nIdentify appropriate strategies for the use of taping for patients with postural deficits.\nDiscuss the role of available evidence as it relates to the clinical practice of therapeutic taping
